There are numerous scholarships, bursaries and financial awards available to Yukon students entering post-secondary institutions, whether they be colleges, universities, or trade institutes. Students are also eligible for the Yukon Grant, and, depending on marks, may also be eligible for the Yukon Excellence Award.
Students should check with their employers, parent’s employers, coaches and associations for the availability of other scholarships. Additionally, students should research financial assistance programs and scholarships specific to the post-secondary institution they plan on attending. Students in serious financial need should inquire about student loans, tuition assistance, bursary funds and work-study programs that are specific to each post-secondary institution. Canada Student Loans and Grants are also available. Apply for as many scholarships as possible but choose those for which you have are realistically eligible. Be prepared to spend time and effort on your applications. Successful scholarship applications are the result of care, good supporting documents, and attention to detail. Remember that scholarships are won in competition with other students. Click Here for The Guide to Scholarships & Bursaries |
