 St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Secondary School Council is hosting a community dance! You are all invited and we hope it can be an opportunity for continued relationship building among our Yukon Catholic Schools especially. Please distribute to your school community on any and every platform with a very warm welcome to join us in October at the St. Francis gym. It is family friendly- there will be a caller, Bob Kuiper, (who calls out the dance moves in real time) and a lineup of local celebrity musicians including Annie Avery, Keitha Clark and Lisa Preto. No dance experience necessary! It is an event to kickstart fundraising for the cost of establishing a school mural, similar to what exists in the Catholic elementary schools, with the theme of our namesake St. Francis. This is a big project but our hope is, when it is completed, it will be a beautiful symbol visually welcoming and uniting our school community in faith as well as in good relationship to our First Nations communities. If you would like to donate anything for a silent auction, it would be most appreciated as a gift to support our fundraising. Please let me know. Our foods class is contributing to a bake sale for the evening- so bring some cash on hand to be able to have a snack between dances.
