Farewell and Welcome to Staff

​Dear St. Francis of Assisi Families,
As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I'm writing to share some important updates about our staff. This is a time of both excitement and reflection as we welcome new faces and bid farewell to some of our longtime colleagues.
 
Farewell to Our Retiring Staff
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated educators who retired this past school year. Angelita Seloterio has been a cornerstone of our LAT department for the past 6 years, and her passion for teaching has touched countless lives. We also say goodbye to Sharon Davis whose commitment to Educational Psychology has left an indelible mark on our school community. Their wisdom, kindness, and dedication will be greatly missed. Please join me in wishing them a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
This time of year, also brings some heartfelt goodbyes. We wish the best to the following staff members who are moving on to new opportunities:
·       Mia Ouellette: Vice-Principal. We thank Mia for over 10 years of dedicated service to our students. She has made a lasting impact on our school community, and we wish her all the best in her new role at FH Collins.
·       Joyce Sward, Jordan Stevens and Alex Sand: Thank you for joining our team mid-school year and seamlessly becoming part of the St. Francis Team. We're grateful for all they have done for our students and wish them well.
·       Sophie Jacques: will be leaving us for the year; we wish her all the best during her time away.
Their contributions have been invaluable, and we are incredibly grateful for their time at St. Francis. Please join me in thanking them for their service and wishing them well on their new journeys.


Welcoming Our New Staff
We are thrilled to welcome a group of talented and enthusiastic new staff members to our team. We conducted a thorough search and are confident that each of them will bring fresh perspectives and a deep commitment to our students' success.

• Joe Cosgrove, as mentioned in a previous email, will be our new Vice Principal and math Teacher. He brings a wealth of experience in school leadership, having previously served as an administrator in Alberta. Joe is passionate about fostering a positive and inclusive school environment and is a strong advocate for student success. His dedication to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families makes him a wonderful fit for our community.
• Hilary Calnan will be joining us as our new LAT Teacher. She comes to us with a background in special education and counselling psychology. We are excited for her to share her expertise with our students.
• Lindsay Cosgrove will be our new Shared Resource LAT teacher.  She is passionate about inspiring creativity and is looking forward to becoming part of our school community.
• Ryan Lajeunesse is returning for this school year. He comes to us with a strong background in differentiated instruction and we are confident he will be a great addition to our team.

We believe these new hires will contribute significantly to the vibrant learning environment at St. Francis. Please join me in extending a warm welcome to them when you see them around the school. In addition, we also welcome back a couple familiar faces: Monica Sharma and Rebecca Leslie, it is great to start this school year with you both back on the team!
