School council elections are coming up!
This spring, our school community will decide who will help shape and direct local education for the next two years. We encourage parents and community members to consider this opportunity to contribute their ideas, insights, and perspectives in decisions that directly impact the school. Having broad representation from the community is important. Our school needs a variety of voices speaking and ears listening at the table – all sharing a common interest in student learning and education. Eligibility to vote: To vote in the school council elections, you must be a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and either:
Voting opportunities at the school: Saturday, May 4, 2024: Early Voting (11 am to 4 pm) Monday, May 6, 2024: Polling Day (3 pm to 8 pm) The addition of the vote will occur on May 7th at noon. Invitation to Meet School Council Candidates The Catholic Education Association of Yukon is hosting a Meet and Greet for St. Francis Council candidates and electors. Considering CEAY's purposes to support school councils, assist in communication among members and community, and build relationships between parishes and schools, CEAY is pleased to host: Meet and Greet for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Secondary Council Candidates and Electors: Wednesday, May 1, 2024 6:30pm in the school Learning Commons Candidates will have the opportunity to speak with electors in an informal and relaxed setting of small group or individual conversations in a mix-and-mingle style event.
