St. Francis Update April 21 - 25

4/21/2025

Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,

With sorrow and thankfulness, we join the Church and the world in mourning the passing of our Holy Father, Pope Francis, on Easter Monday — a day enveloped by the light of the Resurrection. A shepherd with a heart for the lost and a voice for the marginalized, Pope Francis dedicated his life to making the love of Christ known to all.
From his first call to embrace the joy of the Gospel to his unwavering commitment to mercy and evangelization, his papacy was a reminder that the Church does not exist for itself but for the world.
As we grieve, we also rejoice in the hope of Easter and give thanks for the witness of his life and his courage. In this moment of transition, we entrust him to the loving arms of the Father and pray for the College of Cardinals as they prepare to discern his successor.

Prayer
In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord God,
you chose Pope Francis to be shepherd over the Church
and to serve you as the Vicar of your Son Jesus.
Welcome him into the glory of your kingdom
and grant him the eternal reward of a faithful servant.
May his teachings and examples continue to nourish and inspire our faith
and may his intercession continue to benefit all peoples of the world.
Through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son,
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
