St. Francis Update April 7 - 11

Prayer
Lord our God and our Father, 
We thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit, who binds us to you.
Give us continually afresh something of this Spirit so that we can go forward with light shining on the paths we must follow on earth.
Grant us your Spirit, grant that light may break into our whole life and we can rejoice because we experience so much of what you are doing.
For through the power of your Spirit you can help us toward your future and all that is to come. Amen.
 
Student Led Conferences
Report cards will be available for pick up during Student Led Conferences on Wednesday April 9th from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Please wait until 3:30 to come, so that teachers are able to set up their spaces for your arrival. See you there!
 
BC Assessments
A reminder that all grade 10 students will be writing their Literacy and Numeracy assessments this week on Tuesday and Thursday. Ms. Ouellette has posted where the students will be writing during each day – remind students to be on time and to check Teams hallway for more information.
 
Make it Sow Fundraiser
Thank you to everyone who purchased seeds through our Make it Sow Fundraiser. We are happy to learn that 6 trees will be planted in Canada from our campaign!
 
School Council Meeting
The meeting for this month will take place on Thursday April 10 at 6:30 pm in the Learning Commons.
Secretary-Treasurer
St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Secondary School Council is seeking a Secretary-Treasurer to assist this council with its duties.  The Secretary-Treasurer will:

• ensure notifications of special meetings are sent out or posted;
• record minutes of all meetings and post approved minutes to the school website;
• ensure the safekeeping of all documents and financial records of the School Council;
• ensure all funds of the School Council are properly accounted for;
• disperse funds as authorized by the School Council; report on all receipts and disbursements at meetings; and prepare the financial records and books for annual audit. 

The position usually requires 4-5 hours per month of time and includes a stipend of $150/month.  Applicants do not have to meet the requirements of electors (ie., Canadian citizenship, over 18, and resident in the attendance area) to serve in this position.  While not serving as a voting member of the council, the secretary-treasurer is able to participate and contribute to discussions at council meetings.
