St. Francis Update January 12-16

1/12/2026

Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,

Prayer before an Exam
Loving God
be with me now,
as I prepare for my exams.
Thank you for the many talents and gifts you have,
given me and for the opportunity of education.
Calm my nerves and anxiety, help me
to remember all that I have studied,
to express it clearly and to answer the questions
the very best I can.
Holy Spirit, sit with me in my exam
- and always. Amen.

Exam Week
  • The week of January 12th to 15th is exam week. There are no regular classes scheduled during this week. We have asked students to attend their exams and then leave once they are finished. The first day of regularly scheduled classes is Monday January 19, the beginning of second semester.
Exam Week Expectations
  • All students are expected to write their exams according to the schedule. If a student’s schedule calls for two exams to be written at the same time, they are to contact Mr. Cassidy immediately to make other arrangements: [email protected]
  • Students are expected to stay in the exam room for 90 minutes.
  • Exam schedule posted here.
Basic Exam Writing Rules
  • Cell phones, Smart watches, and AirPods are prohibited during an exam. Use of a cell phone during an exam could result in getting a zero on the exam.
  • Students are expected to refrain from talking, whispering or gesturing during the testing period, even if they are finished writing.
  • Students who benefit from the work of others, who assist others with exam information, or who bring in information for the purpose of assistance on an exam may receive a mark of 0%.
  • Students may be removed from the exam room if they do not to comply with the basic rules of exam writing and they may be assigned a mark of 0% or marked on what has been completed, at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Students are only expected to be at the school for their exams. Please be considerate of other students. Students are welcome to come early and study QUIETLY in the Learning Commons. Once finished, please leave the exam area and go to the cafeteria or learning commons or leave the school.
Study Hall and Hang Out Areas During Exam Week
  • The Learning Commons is the designated study hall and will be open during exam times. Cell phones are not permitted.
  • The cafeteria is a designated hang-out area for students as they wait for a bus or ride home. Students may quietly use cell phones with headphones in this space. The cafeteria will not be serving food during exams.
