St. Francis Update January 13 - 17

1/13/2025

Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,

Prayer
Gracious and loving God, you are always near to us when we call, yet we frequently allow our busyness to keep us from spending quality time with you. Continue to call us to prayer and strengthen our desire to respond in the best way we know how. By the grace of your Spirit, may our efforts lead to a regular discipline of prayer that deepens our faith and increases our trust in your love and goodness. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Exam Week
  • The week of January 13th to 17th is exam week. There are no regular classes scheduled during this week. We have asked students to attend their exams and then leave once they are finished. The first day of regularly scheduled classes is Tuesday January 21, the beginning of second semester.
Exam Week Expectations
  • All students are expected to write their exams according to the schedule. If a student’s schedule calls for two exams to be written at the same time, they are to contact Ms. Ouellette immediately to make other arrangements: [email protected]
Basic Exam Writing Rules
  • Cell phones, Smart watches, and AirPods are prohibited during an exam. Use of a cell phone during an exam could result in getting a zero on the exam.
  • Students are expected to refrain from talking, whispering or gesturing during the testing period, even if they are finished writing.
  • Students who benefit from the work of others, who assist others with exam information, or who bring in information for the purpose of assistance on an exam may receive a mark of 0%.
  • Students may be removed from the exam room if they do not to comply with the basic rules of exam writing and they may be assigned a mark of 0% or marked on what has been completed, at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Students are only expected to be at the school for their exams. Please be considerate of other students. Students are welcome to come early and study QUIETLY in the Learning Commons. Once finished, please leave the exam area and go to the cafeteria or learning commons or leave the school.
Study Hall and Hang Out Areas During Exam Week
  • The Learning Commons is the designated study hall and will be open during exam times. Cell phones are not permitted.
  • The cafeteria is a designated hang-out area for students as they wait for a bus or ride home. Students may quietly use cell phones with headphones in this space. The cafeteria will not be serving food during exams.

CSSC Mercier:
The CSSC Mercier has the great pleasure to announce that we will be providing a French speaking performing arts program for grade 10 students next year. The program TADM (theatre, arts, dance, and music) has a mission of offering to grade 10 students a rigorous training in the performing arts in a French language setting. Students who are following an intensive french program at our school in grade 9 can apply. This semester program (January to June 2026) allows students to have access to professional level workshops and training from teachers and artists. Click here to see the information posters in French and English. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or call 867-667-9050.
