From the Ground Up Help us connect Yukon farms to Yukon tables by supporting the From the Ground Up fundraiser! Students are selling local food bundles to raise money for St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Secondary to help fund our Student Activities while supporting local farms. Each $40 bundle contains: 5 lbs of carrots and 5 lbs of potatoes for Yukon Grain Farm and Hinterland Flour Mill’s Barley Pancake and Waffle Mix (400g), Creamy Hot Breakfast Barley Cereal (320g), and Barley Brownie Mix (500g). Grade 11 Students PEARSON COLLEGE Yukon sponsors one student per year for a two-year period to attend Lester B. Pearson United World College in Victoria, British Columbia. Applicants should currently be in Grade 11 and will take Grades 12 and 13 at the College, culminating in the International Baccalaureate examination. Deadline: November 28, 2024 Pearson College UWC is a two-year pre-university school (Grade 12 and Gap Year) for up to 200 students from over 100 countries who live, study and grow together at the edge of the western world. Youth Clinic – St. Francis My name is Stephanie Coombes, and I am a registered nurse with the Yukon Government. I am looking forward to supporting the health and well-being of students at St. Francis by providing monthly health clinics. I provide a variety of services including guidance on mental health, nutrition, physical activity, non-urgent care and health promotion. I work closely with the incredible teams of pediatricians at Lynx Health to provide low barrier primary care to youth who do not have a family doctor (but youth who do have a family doctor are welcome too!). If your child has needle phobias for blood work or vaccines, I can work them with to do the bloodwork at school to reduce wait times in the hospital setting. Parents are welcome to call 867-335-1728 and speak to me if they have specific requests for health services or appointments for their children.
