Replenish our spirits with new strength and prepare us to meet each day with renewed gratitude and joy. Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy. We love you and we need you, this day and every day. May all of our words and actions give you praise and glory. Amen Student Led Conferences Thank you to all parents and caregivers who came to the Student Led Conferences last week. It was great to spend some time engaged in rich conversation about each students’ progress. If you were not able to meet with a teacher, please contact them by email [email protected]. The list of staff is on our website, www.sfacss.ca or click here. The next Student Led Conference is scheduled for Wednesday April 9th, 2025. Shine the Light on Woman Abuse Shine the Light on Woman Abuse is a registered trademark campaign created by the London Abused Women's Centre in Ontario. The campaign began in 2010 as a small, grassroots effort and has since become an internationally recognized awareness campaign. Each year, the campaign brings awareness to the issue of men's violence against women by turning communities purple for the month of November. Purple is a symbol or courage, survival, and honour. We will be illuminating our school with purple floodlights and asking staff and students to wear purple on Fridays in November during Yukon’s Women Abuse Prevention Month. December Exams At our school, it has been common practice for some teachers to administer a part/section of their exam prior to Christmas break. For example, some teachers might dedicate some specific days during the month of December for students to work on major assignments that will be included in the exam’s final mark. Students will be made aware of the dates of such major assignments that count towards their final exam mark. The purpose of this message is to let parents/caregivers know so that they can advise administration if their child will be away from school for an extended period in December. Rock Your Mocs This week is Rock your Mocs week. On November 15th, we are encouraging everyone to wear their moccasins. This is a positive opportunity to celebrate and promote cultural pride, by encouraging Indigenous peoples to share their stories through their moccasins. Grad Raffle Tickets The Grad Class of 2025 will be selling raffle tickets. Stay tuned for more information! Advent candles and wreaths for sale! Advent is less than a month away!
