Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,
Prayer Heavenly Father, This third week of Advent, let us remember that the good news of Jesus’ birth has the power to bring us great joy this Christmas season. Our joy isn’t dependent on what is going on in our life, in our world, or the people that we are with. It doesn’t depend on the gifts we give or the gifts we find under the tree. No earthly thing can ever give us complete joy. Our joy comes from you. That joy that flooded the hearts of the shepherds, the angels, the wise men, the hosts of heaven, and Mary and Joseph is the joy that still has the power to overwhelm our hearts with rejoicing. Our joy is a gift. It is the gift that you gave us that first Christmas in Jesus Christ. Flood our heart with joy this Advent season as we reflect on the good news of Jesus’ birth. Amen. Mass - Expectations On Wednesday morning, members of our school community will attend an all-school Mass. The Mass, or celebration of the Eucharist, is the fundamental liturgical ritual in the Roman Catholic Church. It is the central action and aspect of our lives of faith and the primary way in which Catholics worship God as a community. A reminder for students to be respectful – no hats, no phones, receive Communion properly (consume the host immediately, do not put it in pockets or throw it), and be mindful of behavior. Students may receive a blessing or stay seated if they would prefer, or if they are Catholic and have their first communion, they may receive communion. It has been a while since we have had Mass in the school for everyone, and we would like to ask parents to remind their children to be respectful, and to behave appropriately. Mass and Talent Show Parents and Guardians are invited to Mass on Wednesday December 20th at 9:00 am in our school gym. You are also invited to our Talent Show that will begin at 10:00 am, following Mass. Looking forward to seeing you there! Wednesday December 20th
