Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,
Prayer Lord, we thank you for the many colours, cultures, and customs that we share in this world. In our differences, unite us by your love. Enable us to act together to uphold life and to make this world a just and peaceful household for all humanity. Today we ask you: O God, hear our prayer and grant us your peace. Amen Christian Unity The traditional date for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is January 18-25. The octave (eight days) has been celebrated continuously since 1894, but was a dream of many Christian leaders since the early years of the 19th century. This week we will celebrate Christian Unity when we gather for our liturgy on Thursday. The theme for 2024 is drawn from Luke 10:27: “You shall love the Lord your God…and your neighbour as yourself.”. Semester Two Monday January 22nd is the first day of second semester. Explore Program EXPLORE PROGRAM: DEADLINE FEBRUARY 6th, 2024 What is Explore? Explore is an intensive French-immersion program that is offered during the spring and summer. If you are interested in learning or improving French and travelling to a new part of Canada, then Explore might be the perfect program for you. Note: You do not have to have any experience or previous knowledge of French to participate in this program. Note: There is a travel subsidy of $1000 for Yukon students who are accepted and complete the program. Key reasons why people love to Explore: · Learning French · Experiencing francophone culture and way of life · Connecting with others from across Canada and making friends · Traveling to another part of the country · Opportunities to continue learning French in a professional context with the Languages at Work program. Exploring language and culture through social and travel experiences has never been this rewarding. For some, it’s life-changing! Program Length For high school participants 16 and older, EXPLORE institutions offer summer sessions, which last between 31 and 33 days. For 13- to 15-year-olds, three-week summer sessions are available.
