Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families,
Prayer Loving God, Thank you for your amazing power and work in our lives. Thank you for your goodness and for your blessings over us. Thank you for the hope you bring through even the toughest of times, strengthening us for your purpose. Thank you for your great love and care. Thank you that you are always with us and will never leave us. Thank you for your Son Jesus, for the truth of his word and the example of his life. Replenish our spirits with new strength and prepare us to meet each day with renewed gratitude and joy. Renew our spirits, fill us with your peace and joy. We love you and we need you, this day and every day. May all of our words and actions give you praise and glory. Amen Student Led Conferences Thank you to all parents and caregivers who came to the Student Led Conferences. It was great to spend some time engaged in rich conversation about each students’ progress. If you were not able to meet with a teacher, please contact them by email [email protected]. The list of staff is on our website, www.sfacss.ca or click here. The next Student Led Conference is scheduled for Wednesday April 17th, 2024. Gratitude Thank you to Lotteries Yukon for funding our transportation for the Dawson Invitational Volleyball trip last month. Thank you! December Exams At our school, it has been common practice for some teachers to administer a part/section of their exam prior to Christmas break. For example, some teachers might dedicate some specific days during the month of December for students to work on major assignments that will be included in the exam’s final mark. Students will be made aware of the dates of such major assignments that count towards their final exam mark. The purpose of this message is to let parents/caregivers know so that they can advise administration if their child will be away from school for an extended period in December. Rock Your Mocs This week is Rock your Mocs week. On November 15th, we are encouraging everyone to wear their moccasins. This is a positive opportunity to celebrate and promote cultural pride, by encouraging Indigenous peoples to share their stories through their moccasins. Extended Absence If your child will be away for an extended period of time, please notify the office at [email protected]. We are asking students to communicate with their teachers to make arrangements for missed assignments or exams. St. Francis Clubs, Activities, Athletics Monday November 13th
