St. Francis Weekly Update November 6-10

Dear St. Francis of Assisi students and families, 


Prayer 
God of love and justice, 
We remember all men and women who died in defense of our country and its freedom. 
Help us to honour their sacrifice through prayers and actions for peace in our world. 
Send us your Spirit to help us let go of misunderstandings, hatred and prejudice so that we may grow together as one family. 
Guide our steps in the way of peace. 
We ask this prayer through Jesus Christ, 
The Prince of Peace. 
Amen. 


Remembrance Day 
Our Remembrance Day Liturgy will be held on Friday November 10th at 10:00 am in the small gym. All are welcome. 
A reminder that there is No School on Monday November 13th. 


Student Led Conferences 
Parents are invited, and encouraged, to attend Student Led Conferences on Wednesday November 8th, from 2:10 pm to 7:00 pm. We are not taking appointments; please come and meet the teachers, and see what your students have been learning! School Photos will also be available to pick up, when you arrive, please stop by the office to pick you the report card, and photos. See you tomorrow!

St. Francis Athletics 
Congratulations to the grade 8 Volleyball teams. St. Francis students represented their teams well. Congratulations! Many grade 8 students participated this year, so much so that we had 3 boys teams and 2 girls teams. All of our teams made it to the quarterfinals and 3 teams made it to the semi finals. STF1 boys team made it to the finals against Mercier and got a silver. Thank you to all parents/guardians who came to support our athletes. 


Rock Your Mocs 
Next week is Rock your Mocs week. On November 15th, we are encouraging everyone to wear their moccasins. This is a positive opportunity to celebrate and promote cultural pride, by encouraging Indigenous peoples to share their stories through their moccasins.  


Extended Absence 
If your child will be away for an extended period of time, please notify the office at [email protected]. We are asking students to communicate with their teachers to make arrangements for missed assignments or exams.
