In the VCSS Learning Commons, we strive to create an intentional space for learning where students are able to work on their courses with maximum focus and minimal distractions.
As of Monday, January 22, 2018, the VCSS Learning Commons will be going cellphone-free.
This decision was prompted by a concerning trend being observed in the Learning Commons of students from all grade levels being continually distracted from their tasks, their teachers, and their peers by their cellphones. Furthermore, there have been a number of studies and articles recently released illustrating the addictive properties of cellphones and social media and the adverse effects that both can have on a person's physical and mental health.
